La vie
You enter ‘La vie’ via the red carpet, which is flanked by two water columns. Depending on the time of day, you’ll be enchanted by ground fog or watch flames dancing on the columns.

The play of light on the solid walls and the exposed, over 100-year-old pillars of the Burbach foundry exude timeless beauty and tranquillity. The lighting atmosphere adapts to suit the occasion. During the day, the lighting is usually subdued, gradually intensifying as the evening progresses and, at night, taking on a ‘rose-tinted’ hue and various colour combinations. A particular highlight is the ‘Aura’. Like the Northern Lights, it will appear rather rarely and late at night.
Fleur de la vie
The ‘Lebensblüte’ symbolises the vitality of life and forms the focal point above the bar. It divides the space into the following areas: ‘la réunion’, ‘la sonore’, ‘le feu’, ‘la galerie’, ‘le séparé’, ‘le bar’ and ‘la cuisine’. Depending on the situation, time of day and mood, these different themed areas invite you to meet friends, read the newspaper in peace, have a chat or simply relax and enjoy yourself.
Chandelier sonore
It is only the enjoyment of music that completes a culinary experience. Our sound lamp brings this symbiosis to perfection. It is a combination of a chandelier and an organ. To play a melody, the blower and the bellows must first generate the correct air pressure inside the glass body. The visible valve magnets are then opened, allowing the air to flow through the pipes. What makes this so fascinating is the technical ingenuity, the combination of sound and light, and the unique, unusual setting of a church organ. It plays daily at 9 am, 12 noon, 3 pm and 6 pm. A surprise tip for birthdays: the ‘Chandelier sonore’ will play a melodious ‘Happy Birthday’ for ‘La vie’ birthday guests by prior arrangement, even during normal opening hours. For our little ‘La vie’ guests
When visiting La vie en rose, our youngest guests receive a colouring book and coloured pencils to explore, guess and puzzle over. Across 28 pages, you’ll find a seasonal drawing alongside plenty of quizzes. Those who colour them in beautifully will be rewarded with a Bachmännli and entered into a prize draw. We look forward to your visit. To ‘steal’ a bite from their parents, children up to the age of 10 receive a free meal. A children’s syrup is available for CHF 1.30.

At our tastings, you’ll discover a fine selection of homemade specialities – lovingly presented and perfect for savouring, sampling and sharing.
At the Chocolate Tasting, you’ll be immersed in our rose-tinted world of flavours and enjoy a selection of pralines, truffles and macarons, as well as a glass of Liquid Hot Chocolate. With ‘Bachmann’s Best’, you’ll discover our most popular masterpieces – from ‘Schutzengeli’ and macarons to fine Bachmann classics.
