A Day in the Life of a Logistics Employee:
On the Road with the Pink Delivery Vans
Even before most people start their day, our shipping department is already in full swing. While the city is still asleep, sandwiches are being packed, orders are being prepared, and the pink delivery vans are being loaded. Together with Ala Eddine, the shipping team leader, we take a look behind the scenes and follow him through his typical workday.

The workday in our shipping departement starts early. As early as 2:45 a.m., the first employees are already ensuring that our specialty products reach the specialty stores on time.
Freshly baked bread is sorted, customer orders are prepared, and goods are assembled for the various locations. Everything must be ready shortly before 5:00 a.m. Then things get hectic: Each driver loads their own delivery van and prepares for the route. After all, no two locations are alike, and every route has its own unique characteristics and different requirements.
As soon as the delivery vans are loaded, it’s time to go. The drivers head out to the specialty stores, deliver the goods, and ensure that the shelves are stocked with fresh specialties on time.

More than just getting from A to B
Anyone who thinks a job in freight forwarding is just about driving underestimates the diversity of the work.
In addition to transportation, everyday tasks include preparing the goods, planning workflows, and working closely with various teams. Good time management is especially important early in the morning to ensure that every delivery arrives on time at the right location.
For Ala Eddine, it’s precisely this variety that makes his job so appealing: “I enjoy doing everything. Every day is different, and that’s exactly what makes the work exciting.”

Teamwork on and off the road
Even though the drivers spend a few hours on the road alone, the team spirit remains central.
Employees work closely together even while preparing deliveries. Throughout the day, they stay in touch with specialty stores and frequently run into colleagues from other parts of the BachMannschaft.
Ala Eddine says that it’s precisely this interaction that makes his workday special: “I look forward to work every day because I get to see my coworkers. We’re like a second family. And whenever I see a pink delivery van on the road, I always enjoy waving to my coworker.”

Bachmann as an Employer
What Ala Eddine particularly appreciates is the respectful and collegial atmosphere within the company. New employees are quickly welcomed into the team and given the opportunity to grow professionally.
His own journey shows that professional development is a way of life at Bachmann. Anyone who wants to take on responsibility and get involved will find the opportunities to do so.
“Many people think you can’t advance in this profession. At Bachmann, however, there are numerous opportunities to further your education and take on new responsibilities.”
