This is where our specialities are transformed into genuine Bachmann moments of indulgence. We were able to spend a day with Rita, the packing department team leader, and take a look behind the scenes.
Customer orders are a key part of Rita’s work. Every day, individual orders are prepared and put together for our customers. Rita particularly enjoys decorating our popular slate trays with homemade pralines. The various specialities are arranged with great care to ensure that not only the taste but also the presentation is impressive.
From Schutzengeli to XXL
Many of our specialities receive their finishing touches in the packing department. Whether it’s Schutzengeli, The XXL, Chatzestreckerli or many other products: this is where they are finished, packed and made ready for sale. Every product is carefully checked and handled by hand. It is precisely this variety that makes everyday work so exciting. “No two days are the same,” says Rita. And indeed, the tasks constantly vary between different products, orders and seasonal specialities.
When Easter or Christmas are just round the corner, the packing department is in full swing. During these weeks, a particularly large number of orders are prepared and packed. All the Easter bunnies are wrapped by hand and given their bows here; countless gift boxes are put together and parcels are prepared for dispatch. For Rita, this time of year is one of the most exciting moments of the year: “It’s very intense, but at the end you can see what we’ve achieved together as a team.”
Handcrafted for special surprises
Our gift boxes offer a particularly wide variety. The various Bachmann specialities are hand-selected and lovingly packaged. The result is personalised gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, corporate events or simply as a little treat for no particular reason.
For Rita, it is precisely these moments of surprise that are so special. After all, behind every order there is someone who wants to bring joy to another person.
Ensuring everything arrives safely
Postal delivery plays a vital role in ensuring our specialities reach our customers. Every day, numerous parcels are prepared, labelled and made ready for dispatch in the packing department.
This requires precision. After all, the products must reach their destination fresh, safe and on time..
Cross-departmental collaboration
The packaging department works closely with many other departments. Every day, speciality items arrive from production that need to be finished off. At the same time, there is a lively exchange of information with the office, sales and the haulage department to ensure that customer orders are prepared and dispatched correctly.
It is precisely this contact with different departments that Rita particularly enjoys. Everyone works together towards the same goal and ensures that the products reach customers in the best possible condition.
Bachmann as an employer
When asked what makes Bachmann special to her, Rita doesn’t have to think twice.
“Bachmann gave me the opportunity to work in Switzerland. I’m still very grateful for that today. What’s more, I’ve been able to develop further here and seize new opportunities.”
She also particularly values the diversity within her team. People from many different countries work together every day, support one another and bring different perspectives to the table.
And what’s her personal secret to staying in good spirits?
