Welcome Week 2026
Welcome to the rose-tinted world: this is how our new apprentices spent their first week at Bachmann
A new daily routine, lots of new faces and a wealth of new experiences: this week, our new apprentices began their training at Confiserie Bachmann.
The excitement was palpable on Monday morning. After all, starting an apprenticeship marks the beginning of a whole new chapter in their lives. But there wasn’t much time to just sit back and watch. On their very first day, during the Welcome Day, the apprentices were immersed in the rosy world of Bachmann and gained an initial insight into our family business as well as the various areas behind the scenes.
Get involved rather than just watching
Our Welcome Week is designed to show our apprentices just how diverse Bachmann is. That’s why, as early as the second day, the theme was: ‘A change of perspective’.
During the job swap, the apprentices gained an insight into the other apprenticeship roles and were able to experience just how different the tasks are in production, sales and administration. In the afternoon, everyone became confectioners in the blink of an eye. With chocolate-covered hands, the necessary finesse and creative ideas, they created their own chocolate figures. They decorated them themselves, filled them with chocolate and even packaged them with handwritten labels.
Throughout the afternoon, there were also plenty of opportunities for personal conversations. Raphael Bachmann dropped by and took the opportunity to get to know the future young talents and exchange first impressions.

On the road with our chauffeurs
At Bachmann, a glimpse behind the scenes of our logistics operations is also part of the experience. That’s why the apprentices accompanied our drivers on their rounds and gained an insight into the logistics that ensure our products arrive on time at specialist shops every day.
They then headed to the packing department, where the apprentices were able to lend a hand themselves in packing the Lucerne speciality, Chatzestreckerli. It quickly became clear just how many steps are involved before a product ends up on our shop shelves.

Rediscover specialist shops with fresh eyes
Of course, a tour of our specialist shops in Lucerne was a must. From the specialist shops in the railway station, through our lifestyle café La vie en rose, to Chocolate World on Schwanenplatz, there was plenty to discover. Different customers, different product ranges, but always with the same brand identity. A particular highlight was working together to set up a shop counter in line with a given theme. This task gave the trainees a taste of what they can expect in the final sales examination.

Exploring Zurich together in search of pink clues
To round off the week, we travelled to Zurich with the apprentices from the higher years of the administration programme.
On our Bachmann Detective Trail, the group not only explored the city but also discovered our specialist shops in a fun and engaging way. At the same time, the trip provided an opportunity to get to know one another better and to forge connections beyond their own apprenticeship trades.

A successful start
What delights us every year: Initial nervousness quickly gives way to curiosity. After just a few days, students were asking questions, sharing experiences, and forming their first new friendships.
That’s why Welcome Week is so much more than just an orientation. It’s your introduction to the Bachmann team and the start of a new chapter.
Dear trainees: We’re so glad you’re here. We look forward to guiding you through your training and wish you a great start at Bachmann. 💗
