What makes Rast coffee so special?
For over 100 years – and now in its fourth generation – Rast Kaffee has stood for uncompromising quality and a genuine passion for coffee. Our aim is to supply our customers with freshly roasted gourmet coffee every week, so that they can experience coffee at its very best. Quality begins long before the beans arrive at our roastery. Personal contact with our coffee producers is particularly important to us. We foster long-term partnerships based on mutual respect and visit each other regularly. After all, only by knowing the origin of your coffee can you ensure quality in the long term.

What fascinates you most about your job?
Coffee brings people together all over the world. I find it fascinating that coffee beans from such a wide variety of regions around the equator find their way to our roastery in Ebikon. Despite the long journey, quality remains the focus at every single stage, from cultivation to the finished cup of coffee.

Two family-run businesses, both now in their fourth generation – that’s what brings us together.
For over 20 years, Rast Kaffee has been supplying us regularly with freshly roasted coffee. This long-standing partnership is based on far more than just a shared product. It thrives on trust, mutual understanding and shared values.
What unites us is a passion for quality, a personal approach to collaboration and a commitment to offering our guests a special culinary experience every day. As a family-run business, we know how important long-term relationships are with our staff, suppliers, producers and, of course, our customers.
But where does the journey of Bachmann coffee actually begin?
The coffee beans in our Bachmann blend come from selected growing regions around the equator, including Guatemala, Costa Rica, Brazil, Indonesia and India. Our focus is not only on the quality of the beans, but also on our relationship with the people behind them.
Rast Kaffee maintains long-standing partnerships with the producers and visits them regularly on site. At the same time, the producers are also invited to Switzerland. This fosters trust, transparency and a shared understanding of quality and sustainability.
Following their journey to Switzerland, the beans are roasted in Ebikon. Rast Kaffee adheres to the highest quality standards throughout this process. This begins with the selection of green coffee beans, continues with modern roasting techniques and extends to ongoing quality control carried out in collaboration with specialist technicians.
Particularly impressive is the emphasis on freshness: the coffee is roasted exclusively to order and delivered the very next day. This ensures that the delicate flavours are preserved to the full, guaranteeing an unmistakable taste experience in every cup.

What does sustainability mean to you?
Sustainability is a top priority for us. On the one hand, we maintain close, long-term relationships with our coffee producers and know the people behind our raw materials personally. On the other hand, we also continuously invest in sustainable solutions and modern equipment at our roastery. For us, sustainability begins at the source of the coffee and does not end with our day-to-day work at the roastery.

Our partnership with Confiserie Bachmann is extremely valuable to us. For over 20 years, we have been able to count on a strong and reliable partner.
