A Journey Through Our Logistics Department
Have you ever wondered which stations our Bachmann delicacies pass through before they’re freshly available in our shops? Today, we’re accompanying our products on their journey through the Bachmann logistics center…

When I enter the logistics department at 6:30 a.m., the whole team is already working at full speed. Amidst busy employees and containers packed with products, I meet logistics manager Edmond N’Tiamoah. As department head, Edi is the main contact person for all things logistics and orchestrates every delivery process.
The former FCL professional has teamwork in his blood and can apply many of the skills he learned in football to his current role. Every day, he proves himself as department head with outstanding leadership qualities. Today, I’ve arranged to meet Edi to get a glimpse into the daily routine of our logistics team.

“Things get going very early here. To ensure the freshness of our products, we deliver to our shops several times a day. That not only requires a lot of organizational preparation but also a well-coordinated team. People are at the heart of our work, and everyone is placed where their strengths can shine.”

First Stop: Passionate Handcraft in Our Production
In our production department, the last sandwiches are still being packed. All of our beloved Bachmann sandwiches are lovingly prepared by hand. They are then placed in suitable containers, already labeled for the respective shops. Using the lift, the fully loaded containers are transported to logistics, where Edi and his team receive them.

Second Stop: Careful Sorting in Logistics
At 6:45 a.m., I witness the final sandwich delivery. Freshly prepared and packed, our sandwiches arrive at logistics. The containers filled with products are first kept cool again and carefully sorted to ensure that the deliveries end up in the correct shops.

Third Stop: Careful Loading into the Delivery Vans
Once all products are correctly sorted and assigned to the right delivery vans, they are brought to the loading station. Here, the full containers are carefully placed into our pink delivery vans. The loading has to be as efficient as possible so that our drivers can stick to their schedules and arrive at each shop on time.
Even though the entire delivery process is still handled from our production site in Lucerne, we can supply all 20 of our shops without compromising the freshness of our products. “How do you manage all this every day?” I ask Edi. “The key to success is teamwork,” Edi replies. “A well-coordinated and organized team will win every game in the end.”
