The original Pain Paillasse® is made in the traditional way – from wheat flour, natural yeast, pure water, and plenty of patience. The pre-dough ferments for 48 hours. Each loaf is handmade and unique.

The favorite bread of the Swiss is served at the best restaurants and has received multiple awards. At Bachmann, Paillasse® is also the base for many sandwiches and is additionally available as dark Bürli rolls as well as small Pausenbrötli. The large loaves are part of the year-round Bachmann assortment in the varieties light, dark, rustic, and nut.
