Where our tea comes from

In the L’art du thé factory in Ballwil, the crystal sachets are made for us using state-of-the-art technology. The amount of tea is weighed out precisely. The cloth fabric is cut and heat-sealed with ultrasonic technology. The basis for the perfect tea experience is the quality of the leaves and precise processing.

This is why Barbara Vogel- Häfliger regularly travels to the tea growing areas. In the tea plantations, premium types of tea are tried, tasted and selected with great precision. We set great store by quality and sustaina-bility. As soon as the tea arrives on the company’s own premises, each batch is checked and tasted again to guarantee we provide a constant and consistent quality.

Sustainability is an especially important topic for Barbara Vogel-Häfliger. That is why she pays attention to the following:

  • No air freight – no unnecessary CO₂ emissions
The teas travel by sea – not by plane.
  • Production in Switzerland
Storage, production, shipping, and administration – all under one roof in the Lucerne Seetal region.
  • Tea bags “Sachets Crystal” made from sugarcane (NeoSoilon®)
100% plant-based, industrially compostable, biodegradable, free from genetic engineering and microplastics.
  • Recyclable packaging
The outer packaging of the “Sachets Crystal” is PFAS-free and scores 18/20 points in recycling tests.
  • Reuse instead of waste
    Multiple use of cartons.
  • No extra waste – only smart reuse.
The filling material for shipping parcels is a by-product from tea bag production.
  • Solar energy for sustainable production
CO₂-neutral electricity thanks to a photovoltaic system on the company building.
  • Pellets and solar thermal energy for heating and hot water
Climate-neutral heat generators that pay off – also for the environment.
  • Packaging? Only where necessary! Because less is more.
